This anchovy, chilli pepper & olive small snack (or pintxo in Basque), most known as Gilda in the Basque Country region of Spain, was created at Casa Vallés bar in the city of San Sebastián.
The snack is named in honor of the American movie Gilda (1946). Rita Hayworth plays the role of a sexy and saucy woman, and taking into account that the snack is a bit spicy due to the chilli pepper, the snack was given the name of the movie.
